We successfully completed the FAT tests of the innovative FWP ITER FWP panel cleaning device. This state-of-the-art equipment was acquired by Fusion for Energy (F4E) – the European Union organization responsible for Europe’s contribution to the largest international fusion experiment, ITER – and will be installed in the final phase of the FWP panel production line.

During the FAT tests, the manufacturing installation contractor, Fussion Business Leadership, attended with an F4E representative. The FWP ITER FWP panel cleaning system is responsible for performing a thorough and meticulous cleaning of the panels, removing manufacturing dirt such as grease, milling fluid, beryllium and graphite residues in several steps.

This revolutionary system includes degreasing additives, front and rear cleaning, front and rear rinsing, manual lance cleaning, and automatic drying. Additionally, it integrates an airlock that allows the entry of FWP from a contaminated and depressurized area, while the clean panel exit takes place in a clean area at atmospheric pressure.
