The Conference Centre in Huesca

Architects: Pedro Lafuente Lles & Rafael Beneytex Duran

The Conference Centre is a polyvalent building which is divided in two large rooms with their respective complementary spaces. The first one is aimed at fair sand exhibitions.

The other great room is the theater-auditorium that may serve as plenary hall in major conferences. This piece has the largest stage house in Aragon, occupying 400 square meters, with excellent sonority. At the stage house is where the concert camera is located.

To this room are joined others of smaller dimension where lectures and presentations can be carried out during the congresses.

This concert chamber includes11 towers and five ceilings (4 covering the camera and 1 the proscenium) with which the stage house is closed acoustically and aesthetically. The top face of the camera is finished with varnished oak matt fireproof. The rear faceis finished with matte black fireproof. Furthermore, any variations can be designed at customer´s request like making it of any finish that is on the market.

Thanks to the modular conception of the camera, with few elements of large projecting surface, the assembly and disassembly of the same can be done with few personnel, within a short time.

The towers have a height of9 meter sand a wingspan of3 meters, with spread wings. When folded, the wingspan is reduced to just one meter, allowing the storage in a small space without compromising the stage box for other performances or activities. The towers are counter balanced and equipped with leveling system which allows the plumbing and aligning with contiguous towers during the assembly of the camera.

Each ceiling is suspended from two hanging lines, which allows the adjustment of its orientation and thus the adjustment the acoustic response of Acoustic Shells. The ceilings can be taken down on the floor to displace them by retractable rolling systems and kept upright in chácena (backstage) or tied as required. In this way are able to release large part of the stage allowing the use of punctual linkages and motors when ever necessary.

Each ceiling integrates spotlights and required electrical installation.
